AUTHENTIC ASSESSMENT AND ITS APPLICATION IN TEACHING MATHEMATICS AT SECONDARY SCHOOL

Summary: 
Assessment is considered as one of the central and important elements in education. With the trend of educational innovation towards competency-based approach in the direction of a competency approach, assessment will no longer focus on the grading system, but rather on the ability to creatively apply knowledge in real situations, aiming at identifying students’ prospects and contributions in the future. In this article, the authors introduce some researches on authentic assessment, thereby proposing the process and model for the authentic assessment in teaching mathematics at lower secondary schools, contributing to innovating the assessment method in teaching and learning mathematics in Vietnam.
