ACCESS TO EDUCATION AROUND THE WORLD IN THE CONTEXT OF COVID-19 PANDEMIC: CHALLENGES AND POLICY IMPLICATIONS

Summary: 
Education is one of the basic human rights, and access to education includes the right to enter school at the right age, to receive full education in accordance with the standards of each country, to enjoy a safe learning environment and equytably distributed learning opportunities. However, the Covid-19 pandemic has affected very seriously on learners’ access to education around the world. The article focuses on analyzing challenges to global education access in the context of the epidemic in several aspects, including: Learning disruption due to school closures; Disparities in access to distance learning and declining investment in education; thereby providing some policy implications for countries to ensure access to education in emergencies that may arise in the future.
