TEACHING “WRITING A COMPARATIVE AND EVALUATIVE ESSAY ON TWO LITERARY WORKS” (LITERATURE 12) BASED ON DAVID A. KOLB’S EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING THEORY

Summary: 
In recent years, teaching aimed at developing learners’ qualities and competencies has become a central topic of discussion. The aim of this study is to explore David A. Kolb’s experiential learning theory and apply it to organizing the teaching Writing a comparative and evaluative essay on two literary works for 12th-grade students. Using qualitative analysis methods combined with description and generalization, the study applies the four-step experiential learning process to organize the teaching of the essay-writing activity. By applying this experiential learning-based teaching process, students are given the opportunity to express their views and develop their critical thinking skills. It can be concluded that this teaching approach ensures the progress of each student by linking theory with practice and providing experiential learning opportunities. This, in turn, contributes to the gradual improvement of teaching quality in general and overall educational quality
