Teaching mathematics in high schools towards enhancing students’ guided self-study process

Summary: 
In the current educational trend of Vietnam, teaching students how to learn and how to think is not enough, but also to teach them how to self - study. Accordingly, teachers need to guide students to self-study as well as providing the conditions for them to improve this skill. Maths subject occupies an important place in high school curriculum. With the characteristics of high abstraction and universal practicality, Mathematics has a great impact on the training of self-study skills for students. This article presents the role of the teacher as well as identifies the steps involved in teaching Mathematics towards enhancing students’ guided self-study process in high schools.
