THE ROLE OF CULTURAL SUBJECT IN PRESERVING AND PROMOTING THE TRADITIONAL CULTURE IN THE CENTRAL HIGHLANDS OF VIETNAM - A PERSPECTIVE FROM GENERAL EDUCATION

Summary: 
The traditional culture of Central Highlands of Vietnam with its typical values is still effective in current social life in the mountainous and rural areas. Many guidelines of the Party and State on building cultural life and orientations in personality education have been found in the culture of ethnic minorities in the Central Highlands. The inheritance and promotion of these values has a special importance in educating students in the Central Highlands provinces to increase their strong emphasis on the responsibilities of citizens, a sense of compliance with the constitution and laws; and a sense of appreciation for national cultural identity. In this study, the authors have contributed more comments on the role of schools in “building people to develop culture” from the aspects of the role of schools in contributing to building a self-awareness of the subjects in preserving and promoting the traditional cultural values of indigenous ethnic communities in the Central Highlands of Vietnam.
