Summary:
The development of information and communication technology has changed the forms of learning, including activities related to online testing and assessment. This study applies the bibliometric method to a dataset of 953 documents related to this field. This dataset was collected from the Scopus database, which contains documents published between 1989 and 2021. The analysis results show an increasing research trend on this topic. The United States was the dominant country in this field; in contrast, Vietnam’s contribution is only one document. During 1989 - 2021, five main contents were identified, the most relevant being the content of “developing technology to support learning and exams”. In addition, during the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, “exam experience in the online environment” was the most prominent content. Based on the trends and content of researches in each phase, the article proposed some research orientations in response to the context of Vietnam.
