RESEARCH AND APPLICATION OF NUMPY LIBRARY IN TEACHING INTRODUCTION TO LINEAR ALGEBRA AT THUY LOI UNIVERSITY

Summary: 
American universities have attempted to reform undergraduate linear algebra courses over the past three decades. The article presents an overview of the research results and practical implementation of the American expert team in developing recommendations, innovating the course content towards matrix which is oriented and encouraged to utilize technology in the first linear algebra course. The author has relied on the foundational studies of the Linear Algebra Curriculum Study Group (LACSG) and the project “Augment the Teaching of Linear Algebra through the use of Software Tools - ATLAST” to compare with the reality of teaching linear algebra at Thuy Loi University in particular and universities of engineering in Vietnam in general in the context of the reformed general education program. The article also presents the initial pedagogical experimental results of applying the NumPy library in Python programming language to teaching Introduction to linear algebra course at Thuy Loi University
