THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN SCHOOL AUTONOMY COMPETENCE AND THE QUALITY OF EDUCATION IN PUBLIC HIGH SCHOOLS

Summary: 
Since the end of the 20th century, because of the demands of improving human resources for the 21st century and overcoming the effects of socio-economic crisis, the trend of “school autonomy” has become popular through over the world. In many countries, school-based management, decentralization, or autonomy school models has used to increase the autonomy for each school to improve the quality of education and to coordinate its stakeholders, flexibly responding to the requirements of the people and society. In the current context, Vietnam also has the policy of increasing the “autonomy” for schools. This paper examines the theoretical basis of the relationship between the school autonomy competence and the quality of education in public high schools.
