QUALITY ASSURANCE AND ACCREDITATION IN THE CONTEXT OF THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC: IMPACTS AND ISSUES

Summary: 
The Covid-19 pandemic has caused fundamental changesfundamentally in the global higher education landscape. Online education is used by most higher education institutions in the world as an ad hoc measure to keep learning uninterupted, but opens up opportunities to promote the digital transformation process in higher education. That leads to the requirements related to necessary adjustments in quality assurance and accreditation. Although the negative impacts of Covid-19 on higher education is greatly reduced compared to the world, Vietnam is no exception. On the basis of an overview analysis of the impacts of the pandemic on higher education institutions as well as quality assurance and accreditation systems, this article proposed the development of the National digital transformation plan in higher education and the National quality assurance framework to serve as the basis for the realization of digital transformation in Vietnamese higher education.
