Some Solutions For University Autonomy

In the context of globalization and international integration of Vietnamese higher education, the autonomy and social responsibility of higher education have become more urgent than ever. In order to implement the university autonomy, higher education institutions are required to make changes for the sustainable autonomy. This article deals with solutions to university autonomy, including: Essential elements for autonomy, gradually increasing legal revenue sources to ensure funding, changes in academic structure, innovation methods of teaching and managing learning, investing in developing, using and effectively exploiting facilities, changing programs and curricula, increasing training scale but paying attention to quality and attention to develop staff and renovate financial management mechanisms. With the above measures, the article investigated the necessity and feasibility of the university autonomy, providing significant step for higher education institutions moving towards university autonomy
