COMPREHENSIVE EDUCATION ON SEX AND SEXUAL ISSUES IN SUBJECT OF ECONOMIC AND LEGAL EDUCATION UNDER THE NEW GENERAL EDUCATION CURRICULUM 2018

Sex education for students is a long-standing issue, however, due to the Asian perception of sex and sexual issues are sensitive, adults tend to avoid or give inadequate explanations to adolescents’ questions about these issues that leads to unpredictable consequences by youths’ self-learning in Vietnam. In fact, sex is a scientific issue that needs to be educated early for children, especially high school students who have physical and emotional sexual development, towards preparing proper awareness of sex and making appropriate decisions on this issue. Sexual education should be integrated into a number of schooling subjects and educational activities to provide a comprehensive accessibility to learners. Based on the 2018 curriculum, the article clarified the meaning of some terms; a list of principles for integrating comprehensively sex and sexual education in the curriculum; comprehensively sex and sexual education content adapted international guidelines as well as the abilities and requirements of comprehensively sex and sexual education in topics of Economic and Legal education at high school level
