Summary:
Risk-based external quality assurance has become one of the new trends in post-secondary education in general and vocational education and training (VET) in particular. To implement the policy on perfecting the education quality assessment and accreditation system in the 13th Party Congress Documentation, Vietnam's VET Development Strategy in the period 2021-2030 and vision to 2045 identified tasks, solutions to develop the national VET quality assurance system towards a risk-based approach. However, this approach seems relatively new in Vietnam, and research on this issue is still lacking. Fully aware of its nature and benefits and exploring it in advanced VET systems like Australia and Denmark bring lessons learnt for policy research and practical implementation in Vietnam.
