Summary: 
The system of specialized high schools in Vietnam was established more than 55 years ago. Those schools started with Math classes at major universities with the goals to develop exceptional talents in the fundamental sciences. The following article is an overall picture of gifted education from the investigation of more than 34,000 current Vietnamese gifted high school students focusing on their aspirations, needs and desires when choosing this environment and their assessment of school experience activities and out-of- school activities as well as the school's responsiveness level to educational aspects.
