CURRENT STATUS OF SOCIAL SKILLS EDUCATION FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS IN YEN MO DISTRICT, NINH BINH PROVINCE

Summary: 
This study is based on a sample of 164 administrators and teachers of high schools in Yen Mo district, Ninh Binh province. The results show that the majority of the survey subjects rated the status of social skills education for students at a good level. In particular, the implementation of the basic goal is completed, helping them to have the ability to master themselves, form a correct and positive outlook and adaptability to life. However, the goal of raising students’ sense of responsibility to family and society has not been as expected. The content mainly focuses on educating students in cooperation and sharing skills. Although the methods used are varied and suitable, they should be combined more flexibly to maximize the advantages of each method. The form of education basically conveys the goals and content of social skills education to students, but school administrators and teachers need to focus on organizing the forms with the characteristics of experience and career guidance activities under the 2018 General education program which is implemented and applied to 10th grade students starting from the school year 2022-2023, contributing to improving the effectiveness of social skills education activities for students and meet the requirements of the General education program 2018.
