Summary:
This paper presents preliminary research on teaching elements of financial education integrated with the primary Mathematics subject. Given the growing attention to financial education worldwide, Vietnam still lacks systematic studies that identify its content and explore ways to integrate it into the teaching of Mathematics in primary schools. Based on theoretical research and the analysis and synthesis of both domestic and international literature, combined with expert consultation and interviews with teachers, school administrators, and pupils, the study identifies the core components of financial education appropriate for primary school pupils, clarifies the learning outcomes required for this educational stage, and proposes six key financial education themes. Furthermore, the study develops a framework of 12 financial education skills and 12 computational skills, structured along the developmental progression of primary school pupils. The findings contribute to establishing an initial scientific foundation for the development of content, instructional methods, and assessment tools for integrated financial education in primary Mathematics teaching. This provides a basis for subsequent research focused on implementing specific instructional content and conducting pedagogical experiments.
