Summary:
Writing is approached as a creative thinking and communication process in which students gradually synthesize knowledge, form ideas, and develop content coherently and purposefully. In reality, the development of writing skills plays an important role in the development of language competence and thinking abilities in primary school students. On this basis, appropriate instructional organization and the selection of effective teaching methods provide favorable conditions for teachers to support students in the gradual development of writing skills. From these considerations, the research introduces the Gradual release of responsibility model and proposes flexible ways to implement it to develop writing skills among 4th-grade students. By designing writing activities across successive stages, teachers will model writing and provide focused guidance, then gradually reduce support to allow students to practice collaborative and independent writing, gradually mastering the writing process. The research results also confirm the effectiveness of the Gradual release of responsibility model in improving the quality of teaching writing in the primary schools.
