Summary:
This study examines the ASEAN University Network Summer Camp initiative, specifically focusing on its implementation at a Vietnamese university in 2024 and 2025. The research aims to identify the key factors attracting international students and to evaluate their overall experiences. Utilizing a quantitative approach through survey questionnaires, the study reveals that the primary motivations for student participation are the opportunity for cultural immersion and the specific appeal of Vietnam as a destination. While the study notes specific logistical challenges, it highlights the enthusiastic support from student volunteers and the Buddy program as significant strengths that greatly enhance participant satisfaction. The findings confirm that the Summer Camp serves not only as a successful academic platform but also as a vital instrument for people-to-people diplomacy, promoting Vietnam’s image and fostering a cohesive ASEAN spirit. The article concludes by offering strategic recommendations to sustain these advantages and improve future program quality.
