Summary:
Developing digital competencies for university students in general and primary education majors in particular is essential in the context of digital transformation and innovation in general education today. Currently, many approaches exist for developing digital competencies among university students, with the most popular being the technological-pedagogical content knowledge model (TPACK). In addition, the interconnected model of professional growth (IMPG) and blended learning (BL) are used to enhance practical experience and improve students’ learning autonomy in vocational training; however, research on their practical application remains limited. Drawing on studies of the TPACK model and its extended model, the IMPG model, and the BL model, this article proposes a five-step training process for developing digital competencies among primary education students. Applying this process will improve the effectiveness of development training to meet the current context of digital transformation in education.
