Summary:
Autism, a complex developmental disability marked by impairments in communication, social interaction, and repetitive behaviors, often poses challenges for preschool-aged children. The increasing number of children with autism spectrum disorder participating in inclusive learning environments highlights the need for targeted interventions. Many children with autism encounter difficulties in interaction and communication skills, hindering their active engagement in group activities within kindergarten settings. This article proposes measures to develop group participation skills for 3- to 4-year-old children with autism spectrum disorder. Drawing on an understanding of general and specific characteristics of interaction and communication skills in children with autism, the proposal considers the inclusive educational environment of kindergartens and emphasizes the collaborative efforts of families, schools, and society in the caregiving, educational, and group intervention processes.
