Summary:
Vocabulary serves as the foundation for language development, enabling children to acquire knowledge and life experience. This study aims to comprehend the vocabulary of children with autism. Research findings emphasize that developing vocabulary for children with autism involves cultivating an "active vocabulary, understanding the meaning of words, and using words appropriately in communication situations." The linguistic sensation period at ages 3-4 marks a crucial phase in language development, where children exhibit strong language proficiency. During this sensitive period, a child's hearing and pronunciation organs rapidly absorb language, facilitating the imitation of various pronunciations and contributing to holistic development, encompassing physical and intellectual aspects. The vocabulary of children with autism spectrum disorder is contingent on severity level, age, and the timing of early intervention.
