RUDOLF STEINER'S PERSPECTIVE ON EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATIONS AND ITS APPLICATIONS AT VUON UOM LIVE VILLAGE

Summary: 
In response to the current crises in education, numerous reforms have been proposed and attempted, often with limited success. A significant reason for this inefficacy lies in the chosen approach. Historically, there has been an overreliance on the materialist scientific worldview to address problems, but this has proven insufficient. Practical experiences indicate a pressing need to incorporate an additional perspective - a perspective that is not novel but has been overlooked or deliberately ignored: the spiritual science viewpoint on the human person in education. One advocate of this approach was Rudolf Steiner (1861-1925), an Austrian philosopher, social thinker, architect, and spiritualist. A comprehensive understanding of Steiner's Anthroposophy, particularly the concept of "Spirituality" in his work "Spiritual Foundations in Education" (1922), provides valuable insights into this educational approach. This knowledge can foster a more constructive approach to addressing the challenges within the Vietnamese education system. The Vuon Uom Live Village serves as an experimental project designed for older autistic children (6-15 years old). In conjunction with specialized educational methods, Rudolf Steiner's model focuses on creating spaces and environments conducive to allowing children to authentically express themselves.
