APPLYING MULTIPLE INTELLIGENCES THEORY IN PRIMARY MATHEMATICS INSTRUCTION TO DEVELOP PUPILS’ COMPETENCY

Summary: 
The 2018 Primary Education Curriculum has a strong emphasis on encouraging competency-based instruction starting in primary school. However, kids in primary schools display a variety of exceptional intellectual capacities (potential strengths) in subjects from the first day of instruction. These expressions are unstable and highly diverse, thus they require continual development. Therefore, to give pupils the chance to develop their outstanding intellectual capacities, teachers must implement pedagogical interventions using many instructional strategies during the teaching and learning process. To improve students' competencies through Mathematics instruction in primary school, this article presents the application of Multiple Intelligences Theory in teaching. This is evident in aspects such as defining teaching objectives, choosing and designing teaching content, and utilizing flexible teaching methods.
