OPERATIONAL STATUS OF THE COMMUNITY LEARNING CENTERS

Summary: 
Community learning centers have been piloted in Vietnam since 1997 and rapidly developed in all regions of the country. According to data of the Ministry of Education and Training in 2021, the community learning centers were established in 10,555/10,753 commune-level units, accounting for 98.2%. Many community learning centers, with their functions, have become places for building a learning society and lifelong learning for all people in the community over the years. However, there are limitations to the operational effectiveness of these community learning centers, which does not meet the learning needs of people in the community as well as the development for community learning centers themselves. This article demonstrates the current operational status of the community learning centers and proposes some orientations for the sustainable development of community learning centers in the next period.
