Summary: 
Improving the quality of training and education of students is an important task of high school teachers. In order to perform that task, research activities on applied educational sciences is necessary to meet the changes in teaching and evaluating based on competence approach for high school students. Through a survey on theoretical research and its current status, the article examines an overview of research activities on applied educational science based on competence approach for school managers and teachers, thereby suggesting management measures in line with the current situation of developing school managers and teachers at high schools in Lao Cai province.
