Summary:
The 2018 Music curriculum introduces several orientations for innovative teaching methods, including the application of the Kodály Hand Sign method. This method is widely adopted in schools worldwide and is particularly effective for students who are new to music reading. In this approach, each note in the diatonic scale corresponds to a specific hand sign, allowing students to both read musical notes and express pitch through hand movements. These hand signs are positioned at varying heights according to the pitch of each note, providing learners with a vivid and intuitive way to perceive musical sounds. This paper presents an overview of different hand sign systems, analyzes the advantages of this method, and explores its application in teaching music at elementary schools. These insights aim to help music teachers gain a deeper understanding of the hand sign method, thereby enhancing teaching effectiveness and supporting the efficient implementation of the Music curriculum.
