Summary:
Assessing speech is a core component in the educational intervention process for children with Speech Sound Disorders. The assessment of children's speech involves various methods and tools, including standardized tests. Tools utilized for assessing speech in Vietnamese-speaking children have been created and used for an extended period and in diverse settings. This paper employs a narrative review method and content analysis of 17 tools gathered from different sources to describe these tools. The results indicate that the tools created and used do not fully meet the criteria as standardized tests for assessing speech productions in Vietnamese-speaking children. The paper suggests future research should focus on developing and testing tools to become standardized instruments in assessing Vietnamese children's speech.
