Summary: 
This study analyses the impact of gamification elements on the development of pupils’ collaborative competence in Grade 3 in the Natural and Social sciences subject. On the basis of a systematic literature review, this paper presents a detailed theoretical framework and analyses key gamification elements commonly used in education, especially at the primary level. While elements such as marks, leaderboards, and digital badges often foster engagement and individual achievement, this research focuses on how these elements can be adapted to enhance collaborative competence - a crucial 21st century skill. The study suggests that although competitive elements can be a risk, they can also be designed to support teamwork, encouraging interaction and communication among pupils. The paper also examines potential challenges, including the risk of unequal competition and the difficulty of assessing individual knowledge in group activities. The f indings provide practical insights for educators in designing effective and meaningful gamified activities that not only promote individual engagement but also build a dynamic and cooperative learning environment for primary pupils.
