Summary:
Body shaming has become a common form of psychological violence in both school and online environments, underscoring the urgent need for educational programs that help students recognize and prevent related risks. This study was conducted over four months in late 2024 with grade 5 students in Phu Tho Province, employing three intervention measures to enhance skills in identifying the risk of body shaming: 1) Designing and organizing recognition games; 2) Implementing experiential activities based on real-life situations; 3) Conducting thematic seminars. The experiment involved 53 students in the experimental group and 55 students in the control group, with comparability ensured in socio-economic conditions, educational environments, teacher qualifications, and school facilities. The findings indicate that all three measures are necessary, feasible, effective, and practically applicable. This study provides a scientific basis for developing school-based educational programs to prevent body shaming while simultaneously enhancing self-protection capacity and life skills among primary school students in the current context.
