Summary:

This study evaluates the effectiveness of applying the artificial intelligence platform Magic School AI in teaching grade 10 Informatics. In the context of digital transformation, artificial intelligence has significant potential to support lesson design and assessment. However, studies on AI platforms specifically designed for Informatics at the secondary school level remain limited. The study employed a mixed–methods approach, combining quantitative surveys, theoretical analysis, and an eight-week pedagogical experiment conducted at a high school. Magic School AI was integrated into key instructional activities, including lesson planning, assessment creation, feedback on student work, and differentiated instruction. The results show that the class using Magic School AI achieved a higher mean score of 8.63 (SD = 0.98) than the control class (7.62, SD = 1.24), with the difference being statistically significant (p < 0.05). Teachers also reported saving 20 – 30% of preparation time. These findings provide initial evidence of the feasibility and effectiveness of Magic School AI in supporting grade 10 Informatics teaching.
