Summary:
Context-based education is an approach that enables students to make learning meaningfully through connecting lessons to students’ daily life where they can apply their acquired knowledge to real-life contexts and solve real problems. All over the world and in Vietnam, the research on this educational approach tends to focus more at high school level, but there is a lack of studies and papers on educational activities at the preschool level. Based on the literature review, the article aims to contribute to clarifying the organization of visual arts activities for preschool children according to the local context-based approach. Each step in the process of organizing the visual art activities has been presented on how to perform based on the local context approach. The article also shows how to apply this approach in other educational activities for preschool children, thereby further promoting the philosophy of “education should be based on life, and education is for life” which is believed by leaders and educators around the world.
