Summary:
This study evaluates the current state of digital competence among National Defence and Security Education teachers through a survey conducted at select high schools in Vietnam. Currently, digital competence is an imperative requirement for high school teachers; however, there remains a lack of research applying national standard frameworks to measure this proficiency in subjects with specialized characteristics. The purpose of this study is to assess the frequency of teachers’ use of digital skills, as defined by the Ministry of Education and Training’s Digital Competence Framework, in conjunction with cybersecurity standards. Methodologically, the study employs a quantitative approach, surveying a sample of 712 teachers. The results indicate that while teachers frequently apply skills related to cyberspace safety and information security, their use of artificial intelligence and simulation technologies in teaching is exceptionally low. Furthermore, the variance analysis indicates that practical experience and professional qualifications are significant factors driving differences in teachers’ application of digital assessment tools. These findings have practical implications, assisting educational administrators in formulating appropriate strategies to foster digital competence, thereby enhancing instructional quality in the context of digital transformation.
